Okay this was a fun ride that has so many elements of romantasy we know and love, but feels unique! Like, I blew through this book in 2 days and couldn’t put it down. The yearning in this is OUTTA control and I couldn’t stop. Ya know those books that just feel like eating popcorn? That have that thing in them to keep on turning pages? That was this one, and I had a blast.
It’s book 1 in a duology and book 2 is going to MOOOVE and I’m really pumped for that!

Why Read What Darkness Brings?
Because if, like me, in your romantasy you love a man who yearns, an ongoing mystery, and an FMC finding her strength then you’ll thoroughly enjoy this! Also it’s got elves and I almost always love stories with elves; no idea why but it’s a trend, ha! There’s also a well done memory loss trope that brings this mystery front and center.
Said ongoing mystery had me invested and trying to figure out what was going on, who knows what, and what things mean. I love when I’m scheming and theorizing throughout a book, so that made this a VERY fun read.
What is What Darkness Falls Brings About?
Anghahard is a necromancer losing her memories every time she uses her magic. She also has a secret that only 1 person — her partner in crime and best friend at the Order — knows. She has sworn her life to this organization; to protect the kingdom from the rebels and return lost magic to the elves one day. When a mission for her partner goes wrong putting him in danger, the Order gives her a very specific assignment in order to get him back. And that assignment involves the most dangerous exile ever.
