This romantasy series has one of my all-time top book husbands (he’s in the top 2 spot) and I literally think about him all the time. He’s the perfect “she was sus of him but he was obsessed with her from the jump and he’d do literally anything for her including eliminate everyone else entirely” and I just… I couldn’t love him more.
This series will be 4 books and it is going in a direction I did NOT expect in the besssst way. It’s a fun fun ride!
Why Read the Fear the Flames series?
It’s just a good, fun romantasy gem. It’s basically if Daenerys Targaryen had her dragons stolen from her and then was exiled, and she decides to team up with an enemy commander to go get them back in a fun heist-like situation.
The romance in this series is what leads it for me, because I just adore the two of them. The farther you get, the realer the romance feels in a “omg I make fun of my partner this way too” way and I just love it.
What is the Fear the Flames series about?
Elowen is a lost princess bonded with 5 dragons who were taken & imprisoned by her own father just as she was. But she escaped, & 2 decades later she may have built a new, hidden from the world community, but she’s always seeking revenge. For herself, for her dragons, & for what could have been. Then one day she meets the enemy nation’s widely feared & brutal commander, & they make a deal to become reluctant allies. He helps her rescue her dragons, & she’ll help him in the coming war.
